Job Responsibilities:
- Direct and organize tasks related to maintenance, operation, repair, and service of company fleet
- Supervise and coordinate staff as well as direct personnel to perform work effectively
- Assign and review work of employees managed
- Hire, motivate, and perform evaluations of staff
- Liaise with Safety Department to ensure all vehicles and equipment documentary requirements are completed (DVIRs)
- Oversee that all equipment is in a safe working condition before use
- Determine when new equipment will be necessary, based on condition and expected usage, and oversee sale/auction of used equipment
- Utilize and schedule equipment so that use is optimized
- Manage vehicle service time to be effective and efficient
- Manage regular service schedules for all equipment
- Use fleet management software to track data collection and record monitoring vehicle performance
- Analyze data to manage and reduce costs
- Regularly report expenses and performance of the fleet to management
- Create budgets for both fleet department operations and replacement capital expenditure requirements for upcoming periods and present to management
- Ensure compliance with government regulations related to the transportation industry
- Take preventative measures to ensure safety of vehicles and drivers
- Ensure all necessary and scheduled equipment is prepared for use on time
- Ensure all vehicles are properly registered and carry out inspection on a regular basis
- Keep up to date with industry trends through various workshops and industry knowledge
- Monitor fuel purchases with fuel cards and regulate costs
Job Requirements:

- Motivate employees to ensure efficient work and strict adherence to safety regulations
- Manage time of entire fleet department to meet deadlines
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in similar role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Be adaptable to new software systems for scheduling equipment
- Familiarity with fleet tracking software
- Must maintain CDL and ASE master certification
- Must have a clean driving record
COMPENSATION:
This is a salaried position paying $71,000 to $91,000 depending on experience. The following benefits are included after successfully completing a trial period:
